PRM is the right place for roofing and gutter care information.
We know and understand how roofing and gutter systems work as they age. We service and maintain residential and commercial roofing of all types. Gutters and downspouts are part of the entire roofing system but are seen by many as two separate systems. Roofing protects the inside of a building and gutters catch that water and delivers it off of the building. PRM understands that roofing and gutters are parts of one system of protecting your home and property from water damage.
We can determine if your gutters and downspouts are too small for the amount of water that your roof is delivering. Sometimes larger gutters or downspouts are necessary to drain away the water. We can also determine if you need additional downspouts and how to add those to your existing drain system.
Most builders do the minimums that are required by building codes.
PRM knows how much water each foot of roofing can handle and can make your systems work together to protect your building and property.
Ageing gutters and downspouts have specific maintenance needs. Many times the sealer has broken down to the point where the corners are leaking and damaging the fascia boards. The downspouts can be clogged up by debris that has taken years to accumulate. The under ground drains can have roots growing through them and need to be replaced with newer and updated materials. Many times the gutter spikes have worked their way out of the wood causing the gutters to sag and not drain properly. We can re-align those gutters and replace the gutter spikes with exterior 8” screws. PRM can maintain these specific issues and make sure they don’t cause an emergency down the road.
Many multi-family properties can be scheduled each year for maintenance and repairs so that you can stay ahead of the maintenance and have no more surprises. When it’s time to replace your gutters, downspouts and drains we can do that too.
PRM can make recommendations for:
- Cleaning rain gutters
- Installing gutter guards
- Resealing leaky corners
- Cleaning downspouts
- Cleaning underground drains
- Installing rain barrels
- Installing underground water storage
- Re-alignment for proper drainage
- Installing new fasteners or hidden hangers for gutters
If you need new gutters or downspouts, PRM can help you with an estimate
Remember: Maintenance is important for everything we own and value!
Taking care of your roof is a yearly endeavor.
Every roof should be inspected yearly to determine how your roof is performing. Most home owners believe they can take care of their roofing and they may be able to. But roofing systems today are much different than they were 20 years ago. A homeowner will not know if the roof is defective, was installed improperly or a number of things a professional who does roof maintenance every day will see.
Hiring PRM to complete a roof assessment is worth the small amount of money it will cost.
Sometimes a homeowner who is able to get onto their roof and make repairs can hire PRM to come out and do a roof assessment. The homeowner can do the assessment with our technician who can point out issues for the homeowner to keep an eye on.
The assessment is the tool that the homeowner can use for years come.
The homeowner can ask questions and get insight into how they can keep their roof in top shape.
PRM can make recommendations for:
- Cleaning all debris off the roof
- Clean moss and debris from valleys
- Cleaning or repairing roof flashings
- Defective roofing products
- Severe color distortion
- Performance of all roofing accessories. (ridge caps, attic vents, pipe seals, etc.)
- Checking skylights and fireplaces
- Checking the roofing for excessive wear due to foot traffic (painters)
- Keeping birds and other pest from making their home on the roof.
- Tree trimming
- Wind or hail storm related damage
- Warranty or insurance claims
- Repairing leaky roofing
- The timing for replacing the roofing and the cost of a new roof.
Every roof is unique and will have its own specific issues.
